At Youth Dimension, we are so aware that God wants to draw people to Himself, and He is already at work. We want to join Him in His work, equip young people to step out as His workers, and see a mighty move of His Spirit this summer. Are you ready for a challenge, ready to step out and put your faith into action, and ready to serve a community?
Maybe Blue Moose Summer Mission is for you!
You will be equipped through our evangelism training and sent out in teams of about 20 people to towns across Australia where you will serve. For some teams, it will mean setting up a drop-in centre each night – live music, games, a safe place for youth. For others, it will mean hanging out at the skate park, serving pancakes to surfers, running a talent quest... For everyone, it will mean being a part of what God is doing.
Youth Dimension started Summer Mission in the form of Solid Rock Café in 1977 in the country town of Inverloch. It began as a 'drop-in centre' style of outreach, which developed relationships with literally hundreds of young people. More than 30 years later, Blue Moose Summer Mission is still reaching out to hundreds of people each Christmas break. Those who have attended Blue Moose Summer Mission as team members not only vouch for the fact that those whom they serve are touched and changed, but also those on team are challenged and provoked to change themselves.

Teams are made up of people from all different church backgrounds. You don't need to be a professional on church staff to be involved. All you need is a willingness and availability to be used by God.
We have seen the Lord do fantastic things in the locations we have been to in the past. Equally encouraging is the life-changing experience that our volunteers undergo as they come along and experience God in such a real way. Last year we had nearly 200 young people come and be involved in this exciting ministry.
These are the requirements of those applying to do Blue Moose Summer Mission:
Minimum age: Must have completed Year 11 (or be of equivalent age)
You must have a Victorian Working With Children Check card (or State equivalent) or have a National Police Check if under 18 years of age
Your church leadership must sign a reference form agreeing to you being on a Blue Moose Summer Mission team
You must be able to attend all of training (see Training for details), and all of Blue Moose Summer Mission (December 28 to January 8)
