What’s involved in the training?

Schools’ training at YD is both fun and very practical. For SF we cover:

1. Games – how to run them well & hyped, so everyone is having fun.
2. Control 1 & 2 – steps to establish control; how to deal with hard kids and situations.
3. Short Talks 1 & 2 – How to make the gospel fun, applicable and exciting to teens who think the bible is boring.
4. Mandatory Reporting

SL training looks at:

1. Appropriate ways in developing relationship with students
2. Mandatory Reporting
3. Partnering the school & church
4. How to get the kids to own the program
5. Responsibility to self & students
6. Managing your emotions

On top of these things, we can also do Outreach Training that looks at why and how we can share the gospel appropriately in schools.

Who needs to do it?

Everyone on your team should be trained; however it’s vital that the individual who is heading up the program is trained in the practicalities of running a program.

Where is it based?

A majority of the training is at Youth Dimension (58-64 Hall Rd, Warrandyte South, VIC). However, on request, we often travel to different churches or locations in order to run the training there. We require a minimum of 5 people to be at the training.

How much does it cost?

Training is free when you do any form of our schools ministries. (Apart from Package 3)

However, if you like the look of our training and think it would be useful for your youth group leaders, or your congregation; then training costs $30pp* + travel expenses.
*(price negotiable)

Why do I need training?

We strongly recommend that everyone who is involved in your schools program gets trained by the schools staff at YD so that your program can be run to its optimum level.

When it comes to sharing the gospel in schools, we certainly don’t want to do a shabby job of it. Sometimes a bit of training can make all the difference between a good program and an amazing program!

Training at your church is available, depending on location.
