Year 11 and 12 are some of the most significant years of your schooling life.
Questions about future and direction are constantly being asked. Experimentation due to new found freedoms also adds to the load. Keeping Christ at the forefront of your life through all this can be extremely difficult.
C3 is a chance to connect with other students from different high schools as a support and encouragement as you both journey through God’s word and see how it can apply to your life.
C3 uses a very hands on and practical approach to study and has the benefit of being recognised as in the VET system.
The goal of C3 is to impact three areas of your life:
We seek to build your beliefs, to strengthen your character and to equip you for ministry.
We recognise that ultimately we are dependent on God’s Spirit to grow your life in these areas.
We desire to be God’s tools in developing you in belief, character and ministry, so that you may become more like the Lord Jesus Christ.
Important dates in the C3 Schedule:
O Week: End of Jan
Leadership Camp: End of Term 2
Wednesday Arvos: Weekly schools ministry and class time from lunch til 4:30pm
The studies topics for C3 are:
Facing Your Giants
Exploration
Hot Topics
Narnia
Leadership
Schools Ministry
Summer Mission/Ministry
We desire to see you equipped in ministry, and this is reflected in our preferred method of training:
1. We tell you
2. We show you
3. You do it with us
4. You do it by yourself, we watch
5. You do it without us
During C3 you will be working towards a Cert III in Christian Ministry & Theology (30771QLD). This is done through Australian Colleges of Ministries (ACOM). To achieve this you will need to demonstrate that you are competent to work in Christian ministry at a Certificate III level.
There are 10 competencies you will need to meet:
| CMT001 | Identifies how Christian Scripture, life and practice are understood today |
| CMT002 | Identifies theological data |
| CMT003 | Identifies a range of information within a theological theme or issue |
| CMT004 | Identifies new theological insights |
| CMT005 | Identifies theological knowledge in relation to the Christian way of life |
| CMT006 | Articulates theology in everyday language |
| BSBCMN304A | Contribute to personal skill development and learning |
| CHCCS1B | Deliver and monitor service to clients |
| CHCCD13C | Work within specific communities |

You will meet these competencies through involvement in your studies and through various practical ministry opportunities. The Certificate III will prepare you for basic service in your local church or Christian organisation by providing training in Bible, theology and ministry skills.
We are working with:

Youth Dimension is a part of the Australian College of Ministries Training Network - RTO #90965
We aim to make the assessment as practical and natural as possible. You will be asked to demonstrate what you can do in each area of competency.
Assessment may include any of the following methods:
Observation of you in a ministry/practical context - school, Homeless week etc
An oral presentation on a topic or theme
A short written paper on a topic or theme
A portfolio of notes from a particular class
In class assessment - participation in group discussions and contributions to the class
An interview with a staff member
C3 students will often say that being involved in the community has been a major impact of
their time at Youth Dimension.
Each Wednesday we will arrange some time for you to meet with someone to support you through the year and work through some goal setting.
You will spend a lot of time together, including most classes with this group.
Going away with other C3’s to set some foundational things into place and to deepen relationships with each other.
We will look into some Wednesday night activities to help the C3’s feel part of the wider community.
