The launch of our new branding for Metamorf, our 1 year gap year course.
To get some promo cards sent out to you, email us at info@youthdimension.org.au. Metamorf: a one year course designed for people who have just finished year 12 and want to give themselves a good foundation in Christ before embarking on uni or work or the rest of life!
It runs from Tuesday to Thursday and focuses on 3 main areas:
Biblical – what you know
Character – who you are
Practical – what you do
Metamorf is different to Immerse in that it places a greater emphasis on ‘preparation for life’ than ministry specifically. Metamorfs explore issues of faith, values and personal development.
Our goal is to challenge and equip you to make God-centred decisions for each season of your life. We hope to see you grow in your love and passion for Jesus Christ, resulting in and undivided desire to pursue life to the full through Him.
The Metamorf year involves formal teaching time, practical ministry and input into the Youth Dimension community. The following is a list of formal subjects, ministry experience and community involvement in which Metamorfs will participate:

We desire to see you equipped in ministry, and this is reflected in our preferred method of training:
1. We tell you
2. We show you
3. You do it with us
4. You do it by yourself, we watch
5. You do it without us
During Metamorf you will be working towards a Cert IV in Christian Ministry & Theology (30772QLD). This is done through Australian Colleges of Ministries (ACOM). To achieve this you will need to demonstrate that you are competent to work in Christian ministry at a Certificate IV level. This qualification is recognised nationally under The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
There are 11 competencies you will need to meet:
| CMT007 | Discusses the nature of the Bible and present day Christian life and practise |
| CMT008 | Interprets theological data |
| CMT009 | Investigates information within a theological theme or issue |
| CMT010 | Gains new personal revelation |
| CMT011 | Explores ideas about God in relation to the way we live as Christians |
| CMT012 | Articulates theology in some depth using ordinary, everyday language |
| BSBCMN402A | Develops work priorities |
| CHCCD1B | Support community participation |
| CHCCD9B | Support community leadership |
| CHCCOM3C | Utilise specialist communication skills to build strong relationships |
| CHCGROUP3C | Plan and conduct group activities |
You will meet these competencies through involvement in your studies and through various practical ministry opportunities. The Certificate IV will prepare you for general service in your local church or Christian organisation by providing training in Bible, theology and ministry skills.
We are working with:

Youth Dimension is a part of the Australian College of Ministries Training Network - RTO #90965
We aim to make the assessment as practical and natural as possible. You will be asked to demonstrate what you can do in each area of competency. Assessment may include any of the following methods:
Observation of you in a ministry/practical context – school, Homeless week etc
An oral presentation on a topic or theme
A short written paper on a topic or theme
A portfolio of notes from a particular class
In class assessment –participation and contributions in the class
An interview with a staff member
Self-assessment
Metamorfs will often say that being involved in the community has been a major impact of
their time at Youth Dimension.
Each Wednesday afternoon you will meet with a 2nd year or someone who has previously done Immerse to chat.
You will spend a lot of time together, including most classes with this group.
Going away with other Metamorfs to set some foundational things into place and to deepen relationships with each other.
Sharing together with other Metamorf’s about what God’s been saying to you and praying for each other regularly.
Once a term the whole community stops for a day of prayer, worship and reflection.
We don’t have paid cleaners who come in and tidy-up after us! So we spend 45 minutes on Thursday afternoon working in teams on cleaning and odd-jobs that need attention.
Once a term the whole community works together for a whole day to maintain the property and help out with production of materials for schools ministry.
Once a term we will join with the students.
How much you are willing to invest, to be vulnerable and to let others in will have a huge effect on your experience of the YD community.
