SPOTLIGHTING EVANGELISM

Then, experience a year of radical spiritual growth. God has used YD internship to develop and change lives for over 30 years. YD is an industry leader in discipleship and equipping young people for a life of mission. Could Jesus be calling you to take a leap of faith and sign up for Internship 2025?
Being a witness for Jesus is not just about knowing the Gospel, having a heart for the Gospel, or only about verbally proclaiming the Gospel – it is something that requires us to be all-in.
So, Internship incorporates the following:
Head – Our teaching is Biblically saturated, applied to life and all about understanding God and His Big Story of Redemption.
Heart – We are not just called to witness, we are called to be witnesses – that comes from who we are internally – our character. This is shaped as we see God at work growing and refining us.
We see lives transformed through weekly mentoring, serving and loving each other in community, and working alongside others in evangelism.
Hands - We train you in proclaiming the Gospel through talks and testimonies and give you real-life experience serving Jesus each week in schools and on mission trips during the year.
When: Three days per week.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9-5 pm.

Cost:$1,500 for 2025. It can be paid in instalments throughout the year.
NB: $100 deposit is to be paid before commencement in February 2025.
Classes take place in the context of small groups. This allows for individual questions, discussion and sharing. Classes focus on input and practical application of learning.

Presenting the Gospel
Learn how to write and share your own testimony and Gospel talks
Models of evangelism
Be exposed to the different ways people are doing evangelism all over the world. Think about what might work well in your specific context (Based on the book by Priscilla Pope-Levison)
Evangelism in a Skeptical World
Learn how to contextualise the Gospel to convey its importance and relevance in your specific cultural context. (Key elements from the book by Sam Chan)
BIBLE
Bible as a 5-Act Drama
Gain the big picture of the Bible as a unified story
Old Testament Timeline
See how the theme of salvation runs throughout the Old Testament
Luke and Acts
Explore Luke and Acts to see the God’s work in the Old Testament continued through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus and the coming of the Holy Spirit and establishing of the Church.
Why Mission
Look at the “what”, “how” and “why” of God’s mission throughout Scripture, and the role of the Church in that mission
DISCIPLESHIP SKILLS
Skills that will form the basis for sharing the Gospel with integrity, including:
Life in Christ
Knowing who you are in Christ and living in relationship with Him
Sword of the Spirit
Having confidence in God’s word as the foundation for faith, life and evangelism
Apologetics
Responding to common objections to Christianity with grace and truth
Communication and Working in a team
Everyday communication and teamwork skills that enhance your sharing of the Gospel
Mentoring
You will also meet weekly with a mentor.
PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE
Testimony and Gospel Talks
You will have the opportunity to present your own testimony and Gospel talks in a variety of settings
Schools Ministry
You will work in a team to run lunchtime programs in State and Private Schools, with a range of year levels
Mid-year and Summer Outreach
You will take part in the ‘Mid Moose’ and ‘Blue Moose’ outreach missions, run by Youth Dimension in a variety of holiday and country town locations
Evangelism/Ministry Initiative
You will have the opportunity to develop and run your own evangelism/ministry idea based on all that you’re learning
Nepal Mission Trip (See a snap-shot below)
You have the option to participate in our Nepal Mission Trip (this will involve additional costs)
TRAINING FOR EVANGELISM
You will receive training for the various forms of evangelism you participate in
You will also receive coaching in your areas of gifting
