Prevailer time rolls around quickly…it feels like we just sent out our last one inviting people to our Thanksgiving Service, and that has come and gone. It was a wonderful night sharing our new home and hearing about all the facets of YD. Thank you to all those who came out on a cold, dark Thursday night; and to those who wanted to come but couldn’t make it, thank you for your ongoing support and prayers.
I confess that like many others, I feel a little tired and pulled in a lot of directions. There is a lot to push into in the wellbeing department and there are a lot of other things that pull me back. I am grateful to have been called to YD “for such a time as this”. As things keep changing with Covid, it just convinces me more deeply of the profound need for our young people to engage with something substantial to help them navigate this unique time and to equip them for their lives. I would value prayer to have time and clarity to be creative, to connect with other professionals and organisations. I create things intuitively; I trust God to bring the right things and people around me at the right time…it is hard not to feel I am not going fast enough as I know the need is high… Wellbeing is an ever-increasing, extremely popular and crowded field, there are so many possible programs for schools to choose from, not all of which are helpful…some of which form only a partial picture. It makes it hard not to rush, but instead to trust and wait on the Lord for His plans. I have never known Him to be in a rush!
Thank you to those who stand with me, and stand with us, as we seek to build this new department from the ground up. Your belief in us, and your faith that great things can be accomplished through faith and persistent prayer, sustains us and helps us stay the course.
