In Blue Moose, we have been pruning away at some of the old training and ways of doing Moose just to name a few elements.
I decided to plant some fruit trees on my property (25 to be exact) and turns out it might be a few years before I see some fruit and you’ll never believe it, I also have to water them in the meantime. Much like our Blue Moose locations, sometimes we do a lot of watering and wonder when are we going to see the fruit? But this is where trusting in Jesus and his faithfulness comes in. Because time and time again we have heard the stories of his goodness and the lives that have been changed through a group of young people who love Jesus going out and serving him over their summer.
One of the big things that we have been praying for was a way to reduce the price for this year's Blue Moose participants. This has been made possible by a very generous supporter of YD, and their donation has helped to offset the cost for every volunteer. So a very big thank you to them! The part about growing trees that baffles me the most is when you have to fertilise them. This lockdown feels a little bit like I’m putting manure on the preparation for Blue Moose. I don’t know why, but when I fertilise my trees, it somehow seems to work and help them grow! I don’t know why we are in this season of lockdown, but I’m trusting that Jesus can use it to help grow Blue Moose despite the fact it feels counterproductive!
So please keep praying for us as we prepare for summer and we continue to all pray together to come out of this lockdown, in order that we may go forward and proclaim the gospel! But in the meantime, enjoy this photo of me looking somewhat creepy behind one of my trees!
