Meet the people behind the scenes of Blue Moose.

Meet the team

Owen Prout
Head of Department

After having done a Business degree in the early 90’s, Owen has been working in the Youth Ministry space since 1997 and has a passion for seeing young people seek out and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Having been a Lead Pastor for 12 years, he loves the local church and seeing the next generation equipped for mission.  Now back at YD, Blue Moose is one of the great vehicles to see this happen.

Duties include: Liaising with community and local church. Building and conducting training. Debriefing location leaders. Risk management. Encouraging future growth of blue moose.

Sophie Tucker
Pastoral Care & Leadership Development

Spurred on by her lived experience of mental ill-health, Sophie strives to equip and encourage young people with their wellbeing. As a Licensed Instructor, she trains teachers, parents and faith communities in the Youth Mental Health First Aid course. Sophie loves how moose provides young people an opportunity to develop diverse skills in leadership and ministry and enjoys mentoring leaders from her experience of leading the Ocean Grove Blue Moose location.

Mentoring, equipping, debriefing emerging location leaders. Building training resources.

Shino Walsh
Admin & Networking

Shino is a young adult who is passionate about sharing hope to vulnerable and at-risk people. She seeks to create a safe space to care for people is her nursing job, as well as leading at Wye River Blue Moose. She has been giften with an admin brain (which our department thank the Lord for) and is the backbone of the background moose administration.

Duties include: Handling regos and form management. Building and conducting training. Creating resources for team leadership.

Teaha Cameron
Admin & Resource Development

Teaha has been participating and leading at the St Arnaud Blue Moose location since 2016. Within that time, she completed a bachelor of Psychological Science and a bachelor of Sociology - “people and groups of people” as she’d simplify. This has allowed her to combine her passion to reach young people in hard places with the hope of the gospel, with her knowledge and broad perspective of social groups and movements, and psychological wellbeing.

Duties include: Website management. Creating follow-up resources for faith development post-moose and developing local church partnership.
