Modern slavery is the demand for brides, labour, organs, sex, etc. Basically, modern slavery is profiting off the exploitation of people.
Human trafficking is the movement of people to supply that demand. It's turning a person into a profit, merchandise to be moved to the highest bidder.
This is heavy, we know.
However, we need to know about this, and those at risk of trafficking need to know as well.
Trafficking involves coercion, deception, fraud, abduction, and power manipulation. It’s preys on hope and exploits vulnerability.
Poverty, gender and caste cultural attitudes, and rurality are risk factors for trafficking.
Education is what breaks this cycle! It targets vulnerability and prevents a person from being trafficked and entering into slavery.
A person is saved from a future of exploitation and trauma. Instead, a path of freedom and empowerment is opened.
This is important.
